The ICC Men’s Player of the Month for September 2023 has been announced.

Two India players and a consistent England batter have been named to the ICC Men’s Player of the Month shortlist for September 2023.

India’s Shubman Gill
During the month of September, the rising star of Indian cricket amassed a total of 480 ODI runs at an impressive average of 80.

Gill scored two half-centuries and a century against Bangladesh to help India win the Asia Cup, and he carried that form into the ODI series against Australia.

The right-hander hit an excellent 74 in the series opener in Mohali and improved on that performance by reaching triple figures in the next game, making 104 in Indore.

India’s Mohammed Siraj

During September, the right-armer bowled a number of excellent spells, but it was his match-winning six-wicket haul against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup final that stood out.

Siraj ripped through Sri Lanka’s batting line-up to collect superb figures of 6/21, helping India win the coveted Asia Cup trophy.

Siraj finished the month with 11 wickets at an average of 17.27.

Dawid Malan from England

The dependable left-hander showed his class throughout the month of September, winning the Player of the Series award for his performance in England’s ODI series against New Zealand.

Malan played three matches in that series, scoring 54, 96, and 127 to demonstrate his prowess ahead of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in India.

The top-order batter also scored runs quickly, with a strike rate of 105.72 during the New Zealand series.
