Pakistan’s Key Players – Babar Azam
Pakistan captain Babar Azam has already shown excellent form in the World Cup warm-up games. He hit two half-centuries, one against New Zealand (80) and the other against Australia (90).

Pakistan will be hoping that Babar maintains his smooth touch in the World Cup. Babar, a solid top-order option, will be the lynchpin of the batting order. His success as an anchor can free up more aggressive batting options around him.

Aside from batting, his advice will be sought when he leads the team onto the field.

Bas de Leede, Netherlands
Bas de Leede will play in the Cricket World Cup, just like his father. De Leede, like his father, is an all-rounder who has proven his worth against formidable opponents. This was demonstrated in the Netherlands’ most recent international match, the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2023 in Zimbabwe.

De Leede scored 285 runs at less than a run per ball and took 15 wickets for his team. His best performance came against Scotland, when he scored a century and took five wickets to propel the Netherlands to the 2023 Cricket World Cup.

The Dutch will be hoping that de Leede inspires them to greater heights in their upcoming match against Pakistan in Hyderabad.

Summary: Pakistan enters the match as heavy favorites, with a 6-0 head-to-head record. The Men in Green would like to put their best foot forward against the Netherlands after experimenting with a variety of options in practice games.

Given the high-scoring nature of the Hyderabad wicket, which was on full display in the warm-up matches, Pakistan will be hoping that Fakhar Zaman, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Shadab Khan all hit the ground running. They’ll also be hoping that their pacers find a good rhythm in the first game.

The game will be about getting ahead of Pakistan at the right times and then holding on to that lead. They will rely on inspirational captain Scott Edwards and a group of veterans including Logan van Beek, Roelof van der Merwe, and Wesley Barresi.
