Mitchell is out of the last Twenty20 Pakistan match | Ravindra steps in

Owing to continuous workload management, Daryl Mitchell will not play in the KFC T20I Series finale against Pakistan at Hagley Oval.

Rachin Ravindra of the Wellington Firebirds will be included in the team in Christchurch for Sunday’s game, as Mitchell has withdrew from selection consideration.

The decision to bench Mitchell for this game was made by BLACKCAPS coach Gary Stead taking into account the team’s standing in the current series as well as the forthcoming schedule.

“Daryl is a key player for us in all three formats, so it’s imperative that we get him ready for international cricket.”

As he begins his comeback to cricket, “Rachin is coming off a period of rest himself and will bring a valuable skill set to the group in this final match,” Stead stated.

Devon Conway’s availability for the series’ last game will be decided upon first thing tomorrow morning.
