IPL 2024 Points Table: Following their first victory, Delhi Capitals move up to seventh place, while Chennai Super Kings drop to…

In Visakhapatnam, Delhi Capitals upset Chennai Super Kings by 20 runs to record their first IPL 2024 victory. After choosing to bat first, DC amassed an incredible 191/5 in 20 overs, thanks to half-centuries from Rishabh Pant and David Warner. After that, DC held CSK to 171/6, even though MS Dhoni scored 37 runs in just 16 balls. For all of the cricket fans across the world, watching Dhoni smash four boundaries and three sixes was a fantastic sight, but it was all in vain as CSK ultimately lost.

With two wins in three games and a net run-rate of +0.976, CSK has slid to the second spot in the points table after their first loss of the season. In contrast, Kolkata Knight Riders have surged to the top with two wins in two games and a net run-rate of +1.047.

Gujarat Titans won their second game of the season earlier in the day, defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad by a margin of seven wickets.

Conversely, DC has risen to the seventh position with a net run-rate of -0016 and one win in three games.

As the Delhi Capitals defeated the Chennai Super Kings by 20 runs on Sunday, Rishabh Pant led from the front with his first IPL fifty after his miraculous recovery from a horrific automobile accident.

After fellow left-hander David Warner hammered 52 to lead Delhi to 191-5 at Visakhapatnam, the Capitals’ adoptive home because to the approaching general elections, captain Pant struck 51 off 32 balls.

But when they yelled “Dhoni, Dhoni” (M.S. Dhoni), the supporters in the south Indian city essentially represented Chennai. The former captain obliged with an undefeated 37 off 16 balls, including four fours and three sixes.

Delhi’s first victory of the season came from limiting Chennai to 171-6, and they also handed their opponents a defeat following two early wins.

With bowling statistics of 2-21, Khaleel Ahmed came back, while Mukesh Kumar claimed three wickets.
