Harry Brook has been added to England’s squad as a replacement for the ODIs against New Zealand.

Is it still possible for Harry Brook to make the ODI World Cup squad?

The door to the ODI World Cup remains open for the young and talented Harry Brook, who has been added to England’s squad as batting cover. Brook was recently left out of the World Cup provisional squad. The young batter even stated that he needed to move on from the situation, but now appears to have been given a second chance by being selected in the games leading up to the showpiece event.

Brook has also been named to Ireland’s 13-man squad for the ODIs, which will be played on September 20, 23, and 26. With many of England’s first-choice players rested, Zak Crawley will captain the team. Crawley’s first foray into leadership in any capacity, with Ben Duckett named as his deputy.

Uncapped players in the squad include Warwickshire batter Sam Hain and Surrey wicketkeeper Jamie Smith, both of whom have impressed during the County season. Derbyshire pacer George Scrimshaw has also been called up.
